Mod competitions

A competition that I regularly Compete in , is Zan's 1 Hour Compo, this competition is not a very long one, or for that matter difficult. It lasts approximately 3 hours, by this I mean from the time that you go there to compete to the time that all of the places are awarded is 3 hours. This is the way that it works

I) You are given an already made pack of samples, this is what everyone that enters the compo will use to track the song. This way they can insure that everyone did it in only 1 hour, not to mention it can also sometimes dictate the style that will be tracked

II) You will be allotted the time of 1 Hour to complete your song, log back on and send it to the compo manager, in this case (ZAN)

III) From here on the compo manager, will then create a zip of everyone's song, he/she will then upload it to their server so that everyone who is participating can download it

IV) After everyone downloads it, they all vote, putting each song in order. For every 1^st place vote you get 10pts, for every 2^nd place vote you get 9pts, and so on.

V) Everyone sends their votes to the compo manager and he/she tallies them up, and then the ranks are distributed out, from 1^st to last.

How and where do I join this?

It's not very difficult to join zan's compo, you only need two things. The first is a copy of mIRC a chat program that you use. After downloading it you will need to add a server with an address of (dream.esper.net) using a port of (5555) and join the channel #traxinspace with /join #traxinspace. It takes place every Saturday night at 12am, or Sunday morning if you like to call it that :)

As of now about 20 people come every Saturday, and the numbers keep growing, hopefully this page will bring at least two more.

The second thing you need of course, is a Tracker, such as Fast Tracker 2.08 , of course if your already a tracker you won't need to download this. And if your not yet, you might want to read up a bit and maybe experiment a bit before you come to a compo :)
